I was commuting to Denver Technical Center, known locally as DTC, and because the freeway was almost always impassable, I left home very early in the morning just to cut the commute to less than an hour.

Coming off of the freeway and into DTC, the sunrise would blast me in the eyes between the high-rise offices.

I survived the morning commute! This painting resulted, the first of a series of somewhat ethereal interpretations of real world experiences, leading to entirely speculative works."
